Eco drive, start&stop

To save fuel and reduce harmful emissions for the environment: Start&Stop technology comes to our aid. How does it work? The engine automatically switches off when the driver stops the car and puts the gear in neutral; with an automatic transmission, simply brake until the car comes to a complete stop. When it's time to resume driving, the engine restarts by simply pressing the clutch pedal or, in the case of an automatic transmission, by lifting your foot off the brake pedal. Measurements taken as part of the new European driving cycle (NEDC) show fuel savings and emission reductions of approximately 8%; in the city, where stops are more frequent, it is possible to save up to 15%. In cars equipped with this system, the battery and starter motor are significantly more powerful, but switching off the engine is beneficial for everyone! Even for short stops (a red light), if the stop exceeds 30 seconds, our Driving School recommends this practice even for cars without the Start&Stop system: the increased wear on the starter motor will be offset by fuel savings.
