“Managing risk while driving”: the mission and commitment of the Safe Driving School for over twenty years. Our director, Vito Popolizio, discusses this in an interview with TG3 Puglia during a training day at the Autodromo del Levante (Binetto, BA), which saw instructors and students return to the track after the long stop due to the pandemic.
Very often, instinctive reactions are the most inappropriate. Behind the wheel, it is important to know driving techniques and apply them correctly in different situations. Simulating dangers and possible driving risks, teaching how to face the most diverse risk circumstances: this is how our School concretely contributes to road safety.
But doesn't technology, with its increasingly sophisticated systems, guarantee high safety standards? The active and passive devices available in cars are certainly an important help, but the main element of driving safety is – always – the driver. Even the most advanced systems must be managed optimally to ensure maximum effectiveness.
To conclude, a piece of advice from Vito Popolizio. You can find it in the RAI report here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7NVDjBWcdk
