Check your blood pressure!

No need to rush to the pharmacy; we're talking about tires! Checking the pressure is essential to ensure proper grip on the road and to limit tread wear and fuel consumption. Pressure that is too low causes the tire to work on its sidewalls: grip is insufficient to guarantee proper road holding in every situation, wear on both shoulders is faster, and fuel consumption increases by up to 8%. Conversely, excessive pressure causes the tire to work only with the central part: the contact patch and grip are drastically reduced, and wear is rapid and irregular. The correct inflation pressure for each vehicle is indicated by the car manufacturer and noted in the owner's manual or on a sticker affixed to the driver's side door. The check should be carried out at least once a month (and before any long journey), on cold tires, and, if possible, by a tire specialist, who usually has more precise pressure gauges than those available at gas stations.
