"Cura Italia" Decree, other measures

The "Cura Italia" decree, a response to the health emergency, contains other important measures that directly affect motorists. While insurance and car tax are not explicitly mentioned in the government's "Cura Italia" decree, the two cases are different. Payments for insurance coverage remain due by their specified deadlines. For car tax, the regions decide, and to date, only Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, and Campania have postponed the March and April deadlines to June 30th. Payments can be made online, via app, or at open post offices. The deadlines for vehicle inspections for all vehicles are extended by ninety days from the ordinary expiry; therefore, all vehicles that would have had to comply by July 30, 2020, can circulate until October 31, 2020. Regarding driving licenses, the decree automatically extends to August 31st those that expired from January 31, 2020, or those that will expire after the decree comes into force; however, licenses expired before January 31 are no longer valid!
