An exhibition “dedicated to the innovative spirit of the Prancing Horse”: Game Changers is the new feature at the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena. Game changers, meaning cars destined to change the automotive landscape, as presented on the manufacturer's website. On display are the most significant cars that have marked the journey of the Prancing Horse, in a completely new setup. Ferrari has a long history, which began in 1947 with the 125 S, “a declaration of innovative intent.”
Divided into three thematic areas – Design, Technology, and Performance – the exhibition showcases some of the most iconic cars from the Maranello-based company.
In the Design section, one can admire the 166 MM with its elegant and lightweight aluminum body, the first Barchetta. And for some glamour in the spotlight, the 1952 375 MM Pininfarina, commissioned by director Roberto Rossellini and destined for Ingrid Bergman. A curiosity: the initials MM stand for Mille Miglia, a famous road race.
Technology Section: here is the 1976 400 Automatic, the first 2+2 Gran Turismo with automatic transmission. A glimpse into the world of racing with the Ferrari F1-89, the first single-seater with electro-hydraulic gearbox.
For the Performance section, we find on display the 1973 365 GT4 BB – the first mid-engine GT berlinetta with an original 180° V12 – and the 2005 Ferrari FXX, the first model in a special series created exclusively for the track. Concluding the journey is the latest creation, not just a Cavallino (Prancing Horse) but a Purosangue (Thoroughbred): an SUV, the first four-seater and four-door car from Ferrari.
The Game Changers exhibition will be open at the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena until February 17, 2024.
