Snow!

A weekend in the mountains? With snow, the watchword is more than ever "caution"! Precautions begin even before you leave: if the car is covered in snow, it is not enough to clear the windshield; it is also a good idea to remove snow from the roof, to prevent it from sliding down and covering your view while driving, or hitting the vehicle behind you at speed. While driving, remember that grip is poor, so it is important to avoid sudden maneuvers and to use the accelerator and brake with the utmost care. Braking distances increase: it is important to reduce speed (even on straight roads) and increase your safety distance. A useful defensive driving rule on snow is to keep your eyes fixed on the vehicles in front of you to identify any critical points on the road and anticipate their moves, promptly adjusting your driving behavior. For driving tips, consult our manual Sicuri al volante (Safe at the Wheel), available in print on Amazon and in eBook and print versions on Lulu.
