Get back on track

After a long forced stop, we're about to restart our car. But no luck... it won't start. A first solution is to use a booster, essentially a portable battery, with enough charge to start an engine. Of course, you can just go to an auto electrician, but a booster can also be bought at a low cost, around 50 euros. Another option is jumper cables, with another working car to assist us. How do you do it? Connect the red cable to the positive terminal, first of the charged battery and then of the flat one; do the same by connecting the black cable to the negative terminal. Start the working car, keeping the engine at 2000/2500 rpm for a few seconds, then start the car in difficulty. Disconnect the cables in reverse order and leave the engine running for at least half an hour. But even if everything goes well and the engine restarts, remember that for the battery, the first start is the most stressful. For the first drive, going a few blocks won't be enough: it's better to drive for at least 15/20 kilometers, keeping all unnecessary appliances (radio, air conditioning, etc.) turned off.
